AM Kindergarten
~ Sight Words Introduced in October
Parading Around
Apple Day We celebrated Johnny Appleseed’s birthday! It was fun listening to the story about the little red house with no windows or doors and a star inside. We created a graph, taste tested apples, and created an art project with “cork” apples. It was a fun way to spend an early dismissal day! Fourth and Fifth Grade Buddies We met our fourth grade friends in Mrs. Smith’s class for the first time. They wrote us letters and we wrote letters for them too! We had a chance to see the big kids’ classroom and listen to picture books they read to us. We plan on meeting about once per month for reading, writing, and art projects. The afternoon kids have fifth grade buddies from Mrs. Parker’s class. We read books and wrote letters with the fifth graders too! It is so much fun getting together with our older buddies! Beach Day Another fun day in kindergarten! We lounged on beach towels, listened to stories, and visited beach centers all day. We wore crazy sunglasses, dug in the sand for beach treasures, discovered which beach items sink and float and we chose an “ocean pet.” To end a fun day we ate the ocean! This was a snack of blue jello with gummy fish and cool whip waves!
