Pomperaug Regional School District #15 has announced an Internet Safety presentation designed for parents and guardians on September 14th at 6:30 pm in the auditorium of Pomperaug High School – 234 Judd Road in Southbury, CT. This presentation is open to all adults and high school aged students in the surrounding communities. Because content is age-appropriate for high school students and adults only, parents are advised that children who are younger than high school age should not attend.
Scott Driscoll of Internet Safety Concepts will be presenting information to heighten awareness of potential internet and social media dangers, while focusing on the positive aspects of technology.
This presentation complements Region 15’s school assemblies that are scheduled in September for students in grades 5 through 8.
“We are preparing our students for life in an increasingly digital world. Educating our students and parents regarding internet safety and digital citizenship will help our students and families make smart decisions about when to be online and how to be online safely,” said Regina Lemerich Botsford, Superintendent of Region 15 Schools.
Region 15 is pleased to offer this presentation, for which Southbury & Middlebury Acting Responsibly Together (S.M.A.R.T) secured funding from a grant provided from the Southbury Community Trust Fund of Connecticut Community Foundation. S.M.A.R.T., Inc. is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities. Connecticut Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that helps to improve the quality of life for people in their local towns.
