We are still without power in many areas of the region, and some main thoroughfares as well as local streets are still impassable due to downed trees and/or wires. Additionally, Long Meadow Elementary School is still without power.
We expect, however, to be able to open all schools and for our busses to be able to traverse safe transit routes to school for a two-hour delayed opening schedule tomorrow. Although we aim for as close to normal delayed opening bus schedules as possible tomorrow, we ask for your patience as drivers navigate what might be left of residue from the storm.
All Region 15 schools are on a two-hour delayed opening schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
In the unexpected but possible scenario in which Long Meadow Elementary School is unable to open on a delayed opening schedule tomorrow, a separate announcement will be made to Long Meadow parents and staff to close school. If that announcement is necessary, it will be made by 7 am. If no such announcement is made by 7 am, Long Meadow and all Region 15 schools will be on a two-hour delayed opening schedule tomorrow.
For information about delayed openings, go to www.region15.org, and click on the "Delays and Cancellations" tab in the yellow "Quick Links" box on the right.
Thank you, and have a good evening.
