It is my pleasure to announce that the Board of Education met on June 20th, 2019 to approve the hiring of two district administrative positions. Please see the announcements below and join me in welcoming both Joe and Sarah to our Region 15 family.
Food Services Director: Sarah Baudoin
Region 15 Superintendent of Schools Joshua Smith is pleased to announce that Sarah Baudoin has been appointed to the position of Food Services Director for Regional School District 15. This action was taken at the June 20th Special Meeting of the Region 15 Board of Education. Her position will be effective in early August.
She brings to Region 15 extensive professional experience in leading large food and nutrition teams, a broad range of skills and certifications in nutrition and food service industries, leadership experience with numerous professional affiliations in nutrition and dietetics, and a background in implementing innovative opportunities for wellness in schools.
Mrs. Baudoin is currently the Senior Director of Food and Nutrition at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, CT, a position she has held for the past two years. Prior to her current position, she was the Clinical Nutrition Manager at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, CT, a Child Nutrition Consultant at the State Education Resource Center (SERC), and a Project Coordinator / Research Assistant to lead school wellness programs through the Department of Allied Health at the University of Connecticut.
“As a Certified Dietician-Nutritionist (CDN) and Registered Dietician (RD), Mrs. Baudoin brings to Region 15’s food services program a deep understanding of child nutrition program requirements and operational and directorship experience. Together these skills provide a framework for providing students with healthy, creative food choices while understanding the self-funded nature of our program. She will be an asset to the Region 15 team, supporting student health and nutrition and helping foster a program that supports our district values”, said Smith.
Mrs. Baudoin holds a Master of Science degree in Allied Health Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of Connecticut. She is certified as a Dietitian Nutritionist, Registered Dietician, National Food Safety Manager, and has ServSafe Certification.
“As a registered dietitian who understands the importance of child nutrition programs, there is nothing more rewarding than knowing you can directly impact a child’s success by providing nutritious food and nutrition education. I am looking forward to working with all members of the Region 15 team to effectively operate the school lunch program,” said Baudoin.
Mrs Baudoin will replace Peter Brooks who announced his retirement effective at the end of the 2018-19 school year after dedicating his 34 year career to our district. We wish him well.
