All Region 15 Elementary School Parents are invited to attend an informational session about Bridges in Mathematics on February 2nd, from 6:00-7:30 at Long Meadow Elementary School. The snow date is February 4th.
This year, Region 15 has adopted Bridges in Mathematics for students in Kindergarten through Grade 3. Bridges in Mathematics is produced by the non-profit organization Math-Learning Center and is a rigorous, concept-based program designed to address Connecticut Core math standards in a way that’s enjoyable and accessible to all learners. Bridges in Mathematics was implemented in two phases across the district due to budgetary resources. It is expected that Grades 4 and 5 will be implemented in the coming school year.
Parents are invited to come learn about how daily lessons engage students with mathematically powerful material alive with language, pictures, and hands on learning.
Information will be presented by Region 15 Elementary Principals Theresa Forish, Lauren Feltz, Christopher Wermuth and MaryLou Torre.
